As long as we think of fashion as self-expression and not something we have to do because everyone else is doing it, I think fashion is valuable. However, I detest that people are judged by appearances. Many can’t afford the outward appearance they wish to project, and don’t project who they are through fashion. So, fashion can be evil in that it can encourage poor judgment. But if it’s evil, it becomes important because it has to be guarded. We should not judge by outward appearances, but we do. Someone might look at this and think I’m trying to reduce philosophy down to epistemology. No, I’m not reducing philosophy down to epistemology. What I am doing is trying to pinpoint something that is behind all philosophy, please bear with me for a little while.
